Incredible Video of a Single-engine “high performance” airplane crash landing at Detroit City Airport (KDET) this afternoon around 2:00PM EDT.  Channel 4 had their helicopter in the air to collect this dramatic video which ended with only damage to the plane.

The pilot did an amazing job keeping as much weight on the left-gear and nose-gear as possible until the right-side had to touch down (without the gear in position).  Landing on runway 33 with NW heading, it’s the longer of the two runways at the airport at just over 5000 feet. To further complex the situation winds were high with gusts approaching 45MPH (around 40KTS).
