Nighttime Space Shuttle launch video of STS 130 by the same videographer as the prior post. This one zooms in on the Cape at launch.
It is AMAZING video of the last nighttime Space Shuttle launch of the program on 2/8/10 as Endeavour STS-130 leaves the Cape. Includes radio broadcast of NASA Mission Control. The videographer adds these notes: “Shot from 12.1 miles away in Titusville using a canon SX10 IS digital camera.”
It’s unbelievable that something can be so bright to turn the sky blue in the dark of night….it truly is a miniature version of the sun…..and will likely never be duplicated again in the near future. Around 2:00 into the video you can hear the sound shock-wave hits the filming location when the surrounding sound is completely muffled out.
