Yes this decade ends TONIGHT. Many people out there are blurring the counting of centuries with decades.

Examples: The 60’s are from 1/1/60 - 12/31/69; the 70’s are from 1/1/70 - 12/31/79, etc. The 60’s didn’t go from 1/1/61 - 12/31/70; flash forward to this decade which began 1/1/00 and will end today 12/31/09.

With centuries since there was no year “zero” and we started with “one” it means the 20th century was from 1/1/1901 - 12/31/2000. So yes the year 2000 was part of the LAST century and also part of THIS decade; pause and let it stir in your mind if needed.

None of us created the “counting rules” but that’s the way they work…so end the decade in style and with some good champagne!
